(This is his stand-in. You get to see the real ARTU only if you ask!) ARTU, (pronounced R-2). stands for Ranny Reyns. Ranny is a native Virginian, born and raised in the western part and spending much of his career in central Virginia. Ranny began his career as a draftsman/designer in a machinery development group for the research arm of a paper company. Following graduation from Virginia Tech in the mid 70's , Ranny embarked on an extensive tour of duty, doing detail mechanical design for a provider of components and services for commercial nuclear power generating plants. He has also done work for a couple manufacturers of material handling equipment, and even taught drafting and engineering graphics at a local community college. In the early days of his career as a hobby, Ranny was involved extensively in radio broadcasting. Working as a part-time job and also working his way through college as a DJ, he gained considerable experience in commercial copy writing and production. The broadcasting hobby waned as his professional career advanced and was replaced in the mid 80's by personal computers when they started gaining so much popularity. Growing as the PC's did, Ranny developed an interest in computer aided design (CAD) and has been involved with that since its beginnings on mainframes. (Remember those things?) Having always been taught that you should have fun at your job, Ranny decided to combine all of the things he loves to do into one company, ARTU Technical Services. So when we talk about experience and having fun, we mean it! Let's go have some fun!
